William Kentridge

Willman Kentridge uses drawing as a tool to express ideas through cinematography. He is most known for creating films that use drawings in the process of  being erased. By strategically timing each erase, he combines the modified pictures into a series of images in order to create unique short films. Following is a short film:


Noted as being an expressionist artist, some of Kentriges's works reflect living in South Africa during the apartheid.  Similarly , not all of his drawings are used in his films. Next is a series of drawings done by Kentridge:




In these drawings, Kentridge uses dark blue charcoal to add depth to each drawing. Kentridge's style is unique and interesting through his use of drawings as short films.
